Clavis
For municipalities

What it takes to run a city rally yourself.

What it costs, what technology it takes, who looks after it and how long it takes.

EUPL-1.2. Use it, change it, pass it on. For other municipalities too, and for other purposes.

Operation

Your server

A small server and a domain, nothing else.

What you need

A server, or someone who runs it
A small virtual server is enough. Your own IT can provide it, so can your service provider. The requirements are in the handbook.
A domain
For example rally.your-city.de. With a TLS certificate that the bundled reverse proxy fetches by itself.
One person for the content
Whoever knows the city writes the stations and the tasks. In the editor, without any technology. Multilingual if your audience needs it.
One coordinator per run
One person at a laptop who starts the run, scores submissions and answers the teams. With many teams two are more comfortable.
What you do not need
No app store account, no devices for participants, no map service with an API key, no cloud contract. Also no data protection impact assessment for GPS tracking, because there is none.

From the decision to the first rally

  1. A call

Thirty minutes. Does Clavis fit your plans, and what would running it take at your end.

  2. Installation

Your IT follows the handbook. One day.

  3. Content

Stations and tasks for the first rally. A week, depending on the scope.

  4. Trial run

An afternoon with two teams from your own house. After that the first real run.

Questions from the administration

Do we need a data processing agreement?

Not with Clavis. The software runs at your end and there is no vendor processing data. With your hosting provider as usual.

May we adapt the software?

Yes. The EUPL allows changes and redistribution. You can make adaptations yourself or commission them.

What happens if nobody develops it further?

The software keeps running. The source code, the handbook and the operations guide are in your hands.

Let us talk about your city.

We listen, and afterwards you know what the next step would be.
